At the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, a renovation by L+K Architects has seen a complete transformation of the community’s Downtown Branch Library.
Four YAKETY YAK Oval 103 Pods were teamed with YAKETY YAK Support Caddies to enhance customer service. Located not far from the entrance, YAKETY YAK 103 is utilised as a Welcome / Help Pod while the other three YAKETY YAK’S and support modules provide designated customer service points throughout the library.
YAKETY YAK’s ability to adapt to the task provides the flexibility needed in the diverse library space, helping to support new opportunities for learning and sharing.
With electronic height adjustability, librarians can choose to work either seated or standing, enhancing both their own work environment and the library experience for patrons.
YAKETY YAK Work Modules were also deployed as dedicated, quick reference, public computer kiosks.

At East Coast Bays Library, several YAKETY YAK pods were chosen to encourage a more open and free flowing model; a move away from the large traditional counter that created a barrier between customers and staff.
The minimalist, height adjustable pods, encourage a friendly customer exchange, providing touch-points in tandem with the library’s staff roving philosophy.
The new pods are hard to miss with their tough, hard wearing solid vinyl ‘Dark Grey’ worktops and ‘Marina’ barrels standing out on the neutral carpet and complementing the warm timber ceiling above.

At The LINC Library Innovation Centre, designed by Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture (BRS), our YAKETY YAK Oval 104 Pod was deployed in the large new space of the Confluence Lobby.
YAKETY YAK Oval 104 Pod adapts as a welcome point / help desk and was the perfect choice for a stand-alone service desk as people navigate their way through the lobby to adjoining spaces, numerous activities and experiences.
YAKETY YAK stands ready to greet, or at the touch of a button, lowers to seated height to confidently interact with people of all ages and levels of mobility.
The barrel color compliments the surrounding decor, teamed with a clean white worktop.
Installed with LOLLIPOP Illuminated Sign Pole and an interactive ATDEC Articulated Monitor Arm — YAKETY YAK Pod works in harmony with its surroundings, as a place to be welcomed, informed and inspired.

At Westgate Library and multi-purpose facility, Te Manawa, by architects Warren and Mahoney, the vision and design encourages all visitors to explore, play and learn — a concept that requires flexibility of furniture and the wider space.
Aligning with this vision, YAKETY YAK 103 Oval Pods were chosen and deployed in key customer service areas; the heart of the library, a dedicated help point in the children’s library, and a library concierge near the entrance.
Pods were teamed with YAKETY YAK Support Modules and accessories, including our 100 Cash/Work Module, 100 Support Caddy and ATDEC Monitor arms for the sharing of information.

At Wentworth Library and Community Center, YAKETY YAK Oval 103 Pods in high impact, red livery, were chosen as customer service points throughout the library.
Near the library entrance, two pods form a dynamic circulation area with plenty of space in between to allow staff to work independently with patrons.
A second staff point welcomes patrons as they arrive on the upper level, providing immediate connection and assistance from the library’s friendly, helpful staff.
Welcome pod, help desk or issues counter, these pods are built to adapt to the task and can be easily repositioned to respond to change, as the need arises.

At Belmont Primary School, children are enjoying the benefits of pods deployed for learning.
When Belmont Primary School refurbished their library they wanted to add group work hubs throughout their space, where iPads could be mounted for the children to use.
