Westgate Library and multi-purpose facility, Te Manawa, were conceived and designed as an integrated project, by architects Warren and Mahoney.
The project houses its core library function alongside a variety of event spaces, a Citizen’s Advice Bureau and a workplace for council staff. The vison and design for the library encourages all visitors to explore, play and learn — a concept that combines with flexibility of furniture and the wider space.
Aligning closely with this vision, our YAKETY YAK Pods were chosen for key customer service areas, including a dedicated help point in the children’s library — a place for discovery and storytelling.
YAKETY YAK’s ergonomic design provides a highly versatile workspace, with electric height adjustability at the forefront, allowing library staff to a customise their workspace; adjusting the height to suit their own height and the task at hand — enhancing customer service and workplace safety.
YAKETY YAK’s oval worktop optimises free movement and supports an open exchange. Librarians can flow easily between tasks, in a welcoming and friendly space — even during challenging times.
Wentworth Library
Wentworth Point Community Centre and Library is a dynamic, multi-purpose community hub offering a range of benefits and resources for residents and businesses.
Situated at the heart of Wentworth Point’s growing neighborhood, the new two-level facility offers a state-of-the-art library, community centre and creative spaces for the public.
Cecilia Kugler, of CK Design International, chose YAKETY YAK Pods in high impact, red livery, as staff points throughout the library. In the entry area, the pods form a dynamic circulation area while encouraging social distancing.
A second staff point welcomes patrons as they arrive on the upper level, providing immediate connection and assistance from the library’s friendly, helpful staff.
These two library installations demonstrate the versatility of YAKETY YAK Pods; welcome pod, help desk or issues counter, these pods are built to adapt to the task. Pods can easily be re-positioned as needed, and are well poised to respond to change and stand the test of time.
