Yakety Yak Furniture\u2019s range of pods, desks and counters is designed with flexibility in mind.<\/p>\n

At Flinders University in Adelaide, <\/strong>SA, four YAKETY YAK 204 Desks have been installed as part of a project to create a more flexible and adaptable environment.<\/p>\n

Miranda Morfey, Associate Librarian, Learning and Research Services, says, \u201cOur project is a little different in that we have not undertaken a major refurbishment; instead, we have changed our service provision model and the location. The YAKETY YAK Desks allow us to work side-by side with students and give us the flexibility to move counters to other areas of the library as our needs change. While our project was relatively small in the way it did not involve any building work or refurbishment, it has had a major impact in the way we deliver services by removing the barriers. We have also been able to put our previous service desk to good use \u2014 students have now moved into this space, using the old desk with existing loose furniture, and they love it.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the City of Joondalup, Duncraig Library<\/strong>, WA, YAKETY YAK 204 Desk is teamed with YAKETY YAK 209 Desk, to provide the preferred desktop space in their busy circulation area.<\/p>\n

YAKETY YAK allows staff to work comfortably, either seated or standing \u2014 at an optimum and safe height. Our touch-button height adjustability encourages a comfortable and friendly exchange with customers of all levels of mobility.<\/p>\n

YAKETY YAK 204 and 209 Desks feature a subtly curved meeting end on one side and a \u2018closed\u2019 end on the other, allowing for the positioning of a support module, like our Cash \/ Credit Module in between (or in this case a display stand). At Duncraig Library, the YAKETY YAK desks are positioned in their natural \u2018V\u2019 shape to neatly fit the space, delivering maximum features and flexibility.<\/p>\n

At The University of Auckland\u2019s Kate Edgar Student Centre<\/strong>, YAKETY YAK 205 Island Desks are deployed loosely in the front of house area.<\/p>\n

Melanie Brebner, IC Group Manager, Libraries and Lending Services, says, \u201cThe YAKETY YAK Islands have opened up our helpdesk space, making it more inviting for customers. The flexibility of the desks allows for a variety of customer interactions and better access for all. \u00a0As an added benefit, the desks provide better ergonomics for staff. Over the course of a week, 18 staff ranging in height from 5 foot to 6 foot, 5 inches are based at the desks. The ability to adjust the height of the desks and computer monitors will mean fewer posture-related injuries.”<\/p>\n
